Overview

What this journey is about.

The Kinangop Plateau is one of Kenya's most important birding sites, the primary location for Sharpe's Longclaw, listed as Endangered, and a range of highland grassland species found in very few other places in Africa. Our lead guide has extensive personal field time on the plateau and works closely with the Friends of Kinangop Plateau conservation group.

We build the itinerary around the target species list. Sharpe's Longclaw is the flagship, but the plateau also holds Aberdare Cisticola, Jackson's Widowbird, Long-tailed Widowbird, and Montane Marsh Widowbird, among others.
